Moving Through Pregnancy

Prenatal Yoga

Pregnancy gives us time to prepare for birth and birth gives us tools to use as mothers. This time in our life is unlike any other. Our bones now benefit from rolling outward and our minds need support to relinquish control, in the process of completely surrendering the body and mind to allow birth to happen. This class combines yoga, pain coping practices and exercises to free the body of tension and discomfort while preparing the body and mind for birth. No yoga experience is needed. You may come at any time in your pregnancy.

Moving Through Pospartum

Mama & Baby Postnatal Yoga

Postpartum is a sweet and tender time, and having the support of a circle of mothers to inspire you to care for yourself is a wonderful thing. Bring your baby and take some time for yourself. Combining yoga, Pilates, and flow movement, we will gently reclaim our bodies. Instructors will focus on strengthening, rebuilding, restoring, stretching and learning how to take time to turn our attention on ourselves. Your body will heal and return to itself more efficiently if you take time to rest in the first six weeks. Babies may come to class until they are crawling circles around you. Please bring bouncy chairs, blankets, toys etc.

Prenatal Pilates

Worried about how you're going to maintain your core as your belly gets bigger? Prenatal Pilates safely works the body to maintain and develop strength in the core. In this class we will use traditional Pilates exercises that do not require flexing the abs but rather create a deep awareness and connection with the inner layers of abdominal muscles that support the lower back, pelvis and hips. As the ligaments in your pelvis loosen to make room for baby, the muscles in the low back, hips and legs tend to tighten to compensate. We will work on gaining and maintaining flexibility as well as toning the muscles of the legs and buttocks to prepare your body for birth.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a form of yoga practice where the movement in and out of asanas (or postures) centers around linking movement with breath. It is a class designed for intermediate-level yogis. The class is designed to inspire blood flow through sun salutaions and continual movement, with additinal focus on breath work and mindfulness through meditation.

Fertility Yoga is a practice that gives you time and space to listen to yourself. With lots of hip openers, heart openers, a calm relaxing flow, and breath awareness, this practice gifts you with the opportunity to be good to YOU, to breathe into the present moment, and to just... chill out. Yoga is the settling of our minds into stillness. Yoga with an emphasis on increasing fertility not only focuses on the settling of our minds, but also gives the practitioner the tools to listen to the PROCESS, and honor ourselves along the way.
